Is EVERYBODY Gay?!?!

In May, I returned from the Emerald Isle to kick off the Summer of 2006. I had 4 months to relax, reflect, and learn a little more about the people and places I had left behind in January.

Summer turned out to be rather fantastic. I landed a stellar internship at an online marketing company outside New York, and Beth returned to her position at the Cutting Room. Put us together, and you get...well, us. Beth and I went to shows all summer. Some of them were amazing, some of them were amazingly boring.

We met a New Kid on the Block (who actually sang "The Right Stuff")...

And 80s pop icon, and recent Playboy centerfold, Debbie Gibson...

There were lavish orgies...

And days at the races...

July 4th was spent at the waterfront....

I came face to face with one of my idols...

And met 2 of her dancers, Cloud and Mihran, which, for a dancer, is like meeting 2 gods...

There was plenty to keep me busy all throughout the summer. I started to noticed though, that everywhere I went, I found myself surrounded by more and more gay people...and that's fine, there's nothing wrong with that. It just become so much more noticeable. I mean, there are gay bars, gay nightclubs, gay actors. What's next? Gay porn? Come on!

But one day, a few weeks ago, I found myself eating bonbons and watching "In & Out" on TBS, and as a broken Joan Cusack threw herself into oncoming traffic, I had to agree with her and wonder....Is everybody gay???

Back in June, I went to the New York City Pride parade, and was haunted by the terrible feeling that it was a gay-only event. When did pride become limited to the gay community? Can't we all be proud of ourselves? Shouldn't everyone be able to be a little proud sometimes?

There were gay police officers...

Gay Jews...

Gay coffee drinkers...

Gay home improvement specialists...

Even gay homosexuals...

Later in the summer, I was surprised to find that a majority of the audience members at the Madonna concert were gay as well. Can you believe it? At a Madonna show! If that woman doesn't exhude family values and religious morals, I don't know my up from my down anymore.

I don't know. Maybe this is just how the world is, and how it's going to be from now on. It isn't really bad, and it isn't really good. It's just really gay. So pack your bags everyone, because our next stop is this place......

Enjoy the start of school everybody
